It represents the 3 worldly domains of Land, Sea and Sky (Celtic), the Holy Trinity (Christian), the triple Goddess as Maid, Mother and Crone (Wiccan and Pagan) and Mind, Body and Spirit. In Ireland it is gifted to loved-ones to represent 3 promises - to love, honour and protect. The interweaving circle represents unity of the 3 aspects. The Triquetra is also a powerful protection symbol.
